Back in February, right before the lockdown due to the pandemic, our PlasticBusters volunteers in the Isle of Man spent a whole morning cleaning up the area outside the Kewaigue Primary School in Douglas, which was unfortunately found in a pretty bad condition with plenty of glass, cans and plastic litter, with the risk that this entails not only for the environment but especially for the little ones attending the school.

We have visited the area again on the 22nd of August to find out, to our surprise, that we seem to have returned to our old bad ways. The place was an absolute mess! Two full bags of cans, plastic and glass picked up again…

Most of the litter was found around the car park, where there is a bin. Is this how we are preserving our beautiful UNESCO Biosphere nation? What a shame.

All the materials collected in our activities are properly separated and taken to the nearby amenity site for recycling.
